Rokeby Dragons 102. Blues 103 for 5. Won by 5 wickets.
A stronger than usual Blues team arrived for this evening match (only the second at Rokeby's new location). 23 overs was the agreed format taking time and tide into consideration.
Batting first, Rokeby started well, but their batting attack never left port. The expected big contributions from star batsmen Seb and Rob never materialised, and thanks to accurate fast swing bowling from 14 yr-old former pupil Sheik (3 for 20), and an excellent return catch by wily Jon Burchfield, Rokeby only just managed to reach 3 figures.
The Blues reply started well, with Richie and Mark putting us well ahead of the run rate. A shower of wickets caused a slight wobble in the run chase, but Blues veterans steadied the ship and we docked in the winners enclosure with overs to spare.
