OGs 184 (Frost 91* Rolfe 4/12) Blues 188 for 4 (Bird 74) Blues won by 6 wickets.

On a blustery day with squally showers always threatening, the Blues opened their account against the Old Georgians with a decisive win. A contingent of supporters for this all-day game saw skipper Freeman use eight bowlers to stymie the OGs batting. In fact only two batsmen reached double figures in support of the opener Frost, who carried his bat to be stranded just 9 short of a century.

Matt Rolfe ripped the middle order apart in five overs coming on as fifth change bowler in front of his family, after Dave Cutting made the initial breakthrough with two wickets. Later Zubir Ahmed polished off the innings with 2 for 14 with his wily use of spin.

The Blues reply got off to a good start - Bird and Jansa seeing off the opening attack and scoring with ease. After Jansa (22) and Rolfe (21) departed, Guy Freeman (also with family support) joined Bird and briefly accelerated the scoring.

The final total was reached just before the rain with Fairbs and Liddell steering the Blues home.

Thanks to the Old Georgians for their hospitality and generous teas.
