Hindhead 280/n dec. Blues 282/7. Won by 2 wickets

Despite a shambolic start with the blues arriving without kit, ball, score book nor sufficient players, (enquiry has started) the game started promptly(ish) at 2.20. Fielding first on a sun-baked track the opening bowling pair of Mitch and Jeremy started well and kept a disciplined line and length. Mitch used his accurate medium paced bowling to good effect with career high figures of 2 for 76. J bowled well but as ever in Blues games you don't always get what you deserve!

Brading, Ahmed and Martin all contributed with the ball taking a wicket apiece .There was some snazzy footwork in the field from the new slimline Ronnie (tour preparation he says) and also Mark (Blues debutant). Das had the thankless task of keeping wicket on the hard outfield as well as dealing with Mitch's tantrums. Blues debutant Mark made an instant impact in the field and showed great athleticism (won't last long)
Hindhead battled on and reached 280 off hundreds of overs...

After an excellent tea , (wraps were on debut) the gritty Yorkshire pairing of Corcoran jnr and Middle started well but jnr departed early in order to socialise with his extended family. Mitch and Zubair proceeded to boss the Hindhead bowling with Mitch (supposedly the nurdler) scoring 7 sixes before retiring selflessly with a magnificent debut ton!
Zubair continued to bat well but call badly and was cruelly left on 99 not out. Other notable contributions came from Brading (26) and then lower down the order some determined resilience from Jeremy 'I got a bruise through my pads from his bowling!'.. and Tim (senior)

Against all the odds the Blues chased down 280 with nearly five overs to spare and set off to Alderney with the wind in their sails.
