A fairly comprehensive defeat which could have been avoided if the Blues had not picked 11 batsmen. A typically well constructed 76 from Appleton and some entertaining cameos from Brading and Metson took the Blues to what looked like a competitive total on a lively wicket. Unfortunately the Blues lacked the bowling to exploit the conditions and Fitch reached the target with five overs to spare.
