First win for the Blues of the season at picturesque Slinfold!!

Blues 228-7 (40 Overs) beat Slinford 185 all out (35 Overs)

Highlights:

Debuts for Adam Tanner and Graham Cox. Graham picking up his maiden Blues wicket and Adam bowling a match winning 2-20 and scoring 23 at the top of the innings - highly promising debuts and hopefully more to come!!

Steve Metto top scored with an attractive and fluent 73. His innings included an entertaining episode when he gave himself out caught behind - despite umpire Mullet's clear call of not out the ever sporting Metson headed for the pavillion telling all and sundry that he had definitely hit it - only problem for Metto was that the keeper hadn't actually caught it - it had rolled along the ground to him. It wasn't until Metto was in the pavillion that the fielding team realised he had walked. They found it within themselves to call him back and after much profuse apologising from Metto including offers to forfeit ten runs and knock his own stumps over he resumed his innings.

Rob Baldwin chipped in with an important 58 that ensured we reached a good total.

In the field captain Fitzgerald marshalled his troops effectively.
Mullet starred with the ball 2-26 off his eight overs.
Jansa (1-25), Tanner (2-20), Ellen (2-30), Cox (1-16) and Selleck (0-60 off nine overs) all contributed with the ball to ensure the game was comfortable for the Blues in the field.

p.s. Catches for Jansa, Selleck and Baldwin.

Supporters: Roy Smith and John Hastings.
