Well, with no-shows from Sam Selleck and umpire Mike, we played with only 10, but put up a good performance against a strong Frensham side. Congrats to Rob Baldwin on his ton. The local paper, The Farnham Herald, had a back-page report on the game which is copied below.

Three tons as Blues draw by moonlight

Frensham's highly successful Sunday season came to an end with them not quite clinching victory over long-time opponents The Blues.

Sam Farncombe got the scorboard ticking over for Frensham with a brisk 47, including 4 sixes off consecutive balls. Richard Champneys and Ed Smith then proceeded to put on 154 for the fourth wicket. Smith, who was nursing an injury, hit 11 sixes in his innings of 104. Champneys' innings was less dramatic, but he also completed a century, at which point Frensham declared.

The Blues were in trouble at 35-3, but Rob Baldwin and Zubir Ahmed took the attack to Frensham and Baldwin was to be the day's third centurion. The game was slipping away from Frensham until skipper Adam Page's leg-spin dismissed these two. The 10-man visitors kept chasing and when the last over arrived, with the moon and mist rising, the last pair just managed to hang on.

Frensham: 290-3 dec. (E Smith 104 rtd., R Champneys 101*, S Farncombe 47)

The Blues: 225-8 (R Baldwin 100, Z Ahmed 49, R Mullett 24, E Fulbrook 15*; A Champneys 3-37, A Page 3-67)
