Eight man blues come unstuck at Imber Court!!
Perhaps it was the inevitable hangover after the triumphant tour but the Blues were well beaten on Sunday. Considering though at 2 O'clock there was just myself and Zubee this was no great surprise!!
Neil Williams (fresh and raring to go after a five year period of Blues Astinence) and Zubs made a steady start - Neil unfortunate to be out to an excellent slip catch, Zubair elegant for his 31. Nishanth battled well and steadied the ship to reach 33. Metson rode his luck to reach 70 and we reached 199. It could have been more if it wasn't for the 15 over spell by the Magdalen opening bowler. Take note Rooke and Ellen!
After an average tea (not often we say that) the eight of us started out optimistically to defend under 200 hundred on a excellent batting track and a lightning quick outfield! Neil kept wicket well, excellent glove work meant his metal knee was never needed to stop any byes! After good spells by both Yohan (2 wickets) , Nishanth and Nimalan (1 wicket) Zubair, Liddell and Metson (!) were neeeded to bowl them out... Was never likely to happen. Apologies to Jagge who only managed to have one very good over largely because of Metson's ability to leak them at the other end.
