A fantastic game which was in the balance until the last over of the day. The Blues batted first and were quickly in trouble against a youthful Slinfold bowling attack, slumping to 71-4 off 17 overs. Singh regained the moment for the Blues with an excellent counter-attacking innings of 60. His dismissal prompted another mini collapse, with the Blues someway short of a competitive total at 140-7 off 30 overs. Some late over slogging from Ellen and Ahmed got the Blues to 211-8 and into a decent position from their forty overs. Slinfold raced to 120-1 off 20 and the game looked up but with Corcoran's hands on captaincy anything is possible. Tom Jordan broke the partnership with a beauty and the Blues came alive in the field, some sharp catches were held and Slinfold lost five wickets in a hurry. Needing 25 off the last three overs the game was in the balance, but the Slinfold number 7 hit a couple of boundaries at the death to take his team across the line.
